鑄鐵V型架用于精密軸類零件的檢測、劃線、定位及機械加工中的裝夾，一般都成對供應，是一個四棱體，四個工作面上或四個尺寸不同的90度的槽,主要用于軸類零件的檢驗和劃線。
鑄鐵V型架按材質可以分為球鐵V型架和灰鐵V架鐵兩類：球鐵V型架的使用比較少，一般使用規格較小，精度要求較高的V型鐵，比如：研磨V型鐵。球鐵V型架的精度大于0級?；诣FV型架的使用比較廣泛，灰鐵的成本低、生產周期短，工藝簡單、經久耐用是制造商和用戶的首選原因之一。
